Mesa Offshore Trust (MOSH) is a royalty trust formed to collect oil and gas royalty income from its Gulf of Mexico lease holdings, held within a partnership.  The income from the partnership is distributed to the Trust's unit holders.  Mesa Offshore Trust has no management per se, however there is a Trustee for the Trust and a General Partner for the partnership.  The trust is publicly traded on the NASDAQ Bulletin Board (Pink Sheets) under the symbol MOSH.

• We have been advised that the entire case has been transferred to the Travis County court in Houston, Texas.  This appears to have occurred sometime in February, although up until early this week, the court clerk in Austin had maintained that the case was still based there.  We apologize for any inaccurate information that may have been posted, due to lack of timely information from the courts, however this website just reflects the available public information that we have found and obtained.  Instructions have been posted on the Lawsuit Document page on how to obtain the latest filings at a fee of $1 per page.

History

A bit of background on the origin of the Trust is provided in T. Boone Pickens Autobiography where he describes why the Trust was created in the first place.  Here is a bit of history.

Purpose

In April of 2005, a lawsuit was filed by a group of Mesa Offshore Trust (the Trust) unit holders (MOSH Holdings, L.P.), against Pioneer Natural Resources Company (the General Partner of the Partnership), JP Morgan Chase Bank, N. A. (the Trustee of the Trust), and Woodside Energy (USA), Inc., over various issues and properties of the Trust (which are contained within the Partnership). This website's sole and only purpose is to attempt to provide a central collection point for public information on the Trust and the associated legal action, in a single location for examination by any interested party.  No guarantee or warranty is made on the reliability, accuracy or timeless of the information contained herein.  Use or reliance on any information found on this website is entirely at the reader's / user's own risk.

With the lawsuit and possible termination of the trust, it has taken time to research the various issues concerning the trust, find and obtain copies of the lawsuit, find information concerning the items within the lawsuit, the trust documents, the trust properties (leases), the wells on the properties, what is producing and what is not, etc., so as to be able to come to a conclusion, if there is anything of substance to all of this.  On the Pioneer (PXD) Yahoo message board, a number of others have been trying to do the same.  The intent is to post the information that has been found, so that you the reader may have access to the information such, and that you are able to come to your own conclusions - whatever they may be, based on the public information available.
